Title[edit]

It is not WP's convention to give dates in the title of the article unless they are specifying which of many events is being referred to - i.e., we should only add (1110) if there were numerous (noteworthy) Sieges of Sidon. Is this the case? 129.67.20.143 (talk) 13:05, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, when working on the article I came across other instances when the city had been besieged, so I added the year to the title. One example is in 678 BC when the city was besieged by Esarhaddon, king of Assyria. Another is in 198 BC at the hand of Antiochus III the Great, Seleucid King. Considering its location, I'm sure that is just scratching the surface. -- Nidator T / C 14:29, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
