Sorry, the IPA symbols are useless for knowing how to pronounce the name. Is it Shawn? See-ahn? Shann? Shine? Shone? Or what? What sound modification does the circumflex indicate?Yeshechoden 03:22, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"a" as in "barn" (or "pronounced "sharn") is misleading to someone speaking a rhotic dialect (one in which pre-consonantal r's are pronounced). A as in "shah" would be better.Kostaki mou (talk) 06:45, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AGE[edit]

Phillips was born in 1933, not 1934 -- it doesn't matter what IMDb or mirror sites claim -- they are not always accurate or correct! (Not yelling - just emphasizing).

Anecdotally I can state that I have seen her birth certificate and that she was born in 1933, however I know that does not count for a hill of beans. Objectively, however, reference information from the Welsh Registry of Births (GRO Register of Births: JUN 1933 11a 1644 LLANDILOFAWR - Jane E. A. Phillips, mmn = Thomas) was provided long ago, by another editor, confirming the year of birth.
