Shunet Nimrin = South Shuna and it deserves an article[edit]

@Loew Galitz and Steel1943: Shunet Nimrin is today's South Shuna, full Arabic name: Ash-Shunah al-Janubiyah (see my conclusion at Talk:Al-Shuna al-Shamalyah#English spelling of Arabic place-names). It deserves an article of its own, as it has much more than one item of general interest, so blocking that option by a redirect to a very particular event (a 1918 battle) is not constructive. Sorry,Your long discussion not at all proves that South Shuna, aka Shunat Nimrin.

Here is a place called South Shuna / Ash-shuna al-Ajanubiyya [1] [2], which location looks similar to that shown in [:File:Falls sketch 24.jpeg this sketch]. And I did find the requiried identification ("South Shuna(Shunat Nimrin)"). "From the Jordan Valley Lowlands to the Transjordanian Highlands: Preliminary Report of the Wadi Shuʿayb Archaeological Survey Project 2016, in: Annual of the Department of Antiquities of Jordan 59 (2018): 631-648" Loew Galitz (talk) 01:51, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Loew Galitz: Hi Loew. I'm aware that my posting at Talk:Al-Shuna al-Shamalyah is quite long, but both the source and the conclusion are clear and reliable:
Shuna al Janubiya = Shūnat Nimrīn/Shūnet Nimrīn
the reference being the US official gazetteer, p. 237 (all details on that talk-page), with 2 or 3 variants all identified as S Shuna.
Thank you for pinging me and for your efforts, I'm happy to see you around. Cheers, Arminden (talk) 07:41, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Natg 19, hi. I don't get it: I have risen the alarm, the issue was then clarified (Shunet Nimrin is, or is part of, South Shuna), Loew Galitz has written an article for South Shuna, and I have moved the redirect to the new article. Done. This especially after nothing much came of the RfD discussion, that's a closed matter for all intents and purposes, my edit summary was clear and to the point ("Nothing much happening here, the correct target now has an article, so let's try this.") - so what's the point of dragging on with a MISLEADING, WRONG redirect? Cheers, Arminden (talk) 23:49, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Arminden: if you want the RfD closed, please comment there (or close the RfD yourself). The current status is that the RfD discussion remains open (albeit inactive), as no one at that forum is aware that you and Loew Galitz have made changes and are satisfied with the target of Ash-Shunah al-Janubiyah. For now, I guess the target can remain as is, since you are happy with it. Natg 19 (talk) 01:19, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've closed the RfD. Natg 19 (talk) 22:49, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Natg 19 thank you. I'm not sure I would know how to close an "RfD", I only went there because I didn't know a way out. All is good now. Loew, thanks you too. Arminden (talk) 02:04, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
