Am I correct in assuming that the names of the first two areas mentioned as being part of the French Concession are in Shanghainese? 58.34.236.28 (talk) 16:44, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They are the French spellings which, like many pre-1949 place names in Shanghai, derive from Shanghainese pronunciations. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 14:03, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
