2002 award[edit]

The 2001 award was won by Asha Bhosle, that was according to the official site, which is for some reason unavailable, and many other sources, such as the one I cited from the Tribune. Someone keeps inserting Alka Yagnik's name instead, with some very poor sources to back it up. ShahidTalk2me 08:19, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am confused, the source on the page states (not sure its the official site) that Asha Bhosle won the award, while this source states that Alka Yagnik won the award. After 1980, Asha Bhosle stopped receiving nominations. I am not sure why the article (on the page) has her name. Torreslfchero (talk) 09:27, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Asha Bhosle did not want to nominated for any award post 1980. She only received Special awards thereafter . Alka Yagnik won Star Screen Award in 2002. Almost every site says this — Preceding unsigned comment added by ANKMALI (talkcontribs) 15:30, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Asha Bhosle stopped getting Filmfare nominations, not Screen. Do not confuse between the two. More than that, I have seen the ceremony - she did win it. She won all the awards, including Screen, IIFA and Zee Cine, except Filmfare, for which, as you guys said, she has not been nominated again since 1980. Awardsandshows.com is not a reliable source either. The Tribune is. ShahidTalk2me 22:30, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Let me try. Lagaan came out in 2001. It won many awards in 2002, so it makes sense that Asha would win in 2002. Awardsandshows shows her winning for the song as Shshshsh said, but in 2003, while it shows the other Lagaan awards in 2002. It appears that there is a mistake in that source. Then TheTribune shows Asha winning in 2002 as it should be, which backs up the assumption that that the first source has a mistake for 2002 and 2003 (maybe even beyond that, someone should check). A source like Hindilyrics (or Awardsandshows) is not to be trusted as much as TheTribune. BollyJeff || talk 02:11, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As BollyJeff said, it shows that Asha Bhosle won award in 2003 while other Lagaan awards were awarded in 2002, this clearly shows that awardshows and hindilyrics are not reliable sources. If the official website says that Asha Bhosle won the award then we should go for it. Torreslfchero (talk) 06:58, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are 3 sites on internet saying Alka Yagnik won the award for Kitni Bechain Hoke from Kasoor in 2002 . Further even the official site showed that Alka Yagnik has won 3 Star Screen Awards for Best Female Playback . ANKMALI (talk) 07:07, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the link to the "official" site? The one I saw was broken. BollyJeff || talk 12:35, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Some more sources for Asha: 1, 2. Even the same site mentioned above, Hindilyrics Asha, has it for her, and not for Alka - Hindilyrics Asha. Oh and BTW, Awardsandshows appears to be a cut-and-paste from Wikipedia site, so it doesn't count. BollyJeff || talk 01:55, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The official site of Ashutosh Gowariker also says Bhosle won the award. ShahidTalk2me 14:31, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Now let's put an end to it - Screen India itself says Bhosle won the award (and another article by them mentions this win). Now does anyone have any doubt about who actually won the award? ShahidTalk2me 14:37, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There's something definitely wrong. See this article of Screen http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ . It says Alka Yagnik has won the award 4 times but this page is only showing her winning 2 awards. Further matter is not yet resolved . You have to give complete information !! ANKMALI (talk) 02:17, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And directly below that it lists 14 songs of hers, presumably the nominations. Kasoor's "Kitni Bechain Hoke" is not one of them. It does not say which ones were won:

Dil ne dil se ' Haqeeqat 1995, Pardesi pardesi ' Raja Hindustani 1996, Dil jaane jigar ' Saajan Chale Sasural 1996, Tanhaai tanhaai ' Koyla 1997, Aaj kitne dino ' Zakhm 1998, Kuch kuch hota hai ' Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 1998, Taal se taal ' Taal 1999, Panchhee nadiya ' Refugee 2000, Kaho na pyaar hai ' Kaho Na Pyaar Hai 2000, Dil ne yeh kaha ' Dhadkan 2000, Sansanananana ' Asoka 2001, Odhni ' Tere Naam 2003, Saawariyan ' Swadesh 2004, Hum tum ' Hum Tum 2004, Much of this does not match what is listed on her article either. Its all a big mess, but the evidence is quite clear for Asha in 2002. BollyJeff || talk 02:54, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No evidence for Asha is not clear as these are the 14 nominations but the Screen article http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ says Alka Yagnik won 4 awards from 15 nominations . Kitni Bechain Hoke is the 15th nomination for which she won the award ! Further this page is currently showing Alka Yagnik win only 2 awards which is absolutely incorrect. ANKMALI (talk) 03:57, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We need no assumptions based on number of nominations, but true evidence. As you see, multiple reliable sources mention Bhosle as the winner and none mentions Alka, only unreliable ones do. I think consensus is pretty clear now. ShahidTalk2me 07:31, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The official Screen website says that Alka Yagnik has won 4 Screen Awards http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ whereas this page only mentions her winning two awards. How will you explain that ?? ANKMALI (talk) 07:42, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

She must have won some special awards. Several reliable sources have shown Bhosle is the winner. Not a single reliable source mentioned Alka as the winner for this year. ShahidTalk2me 22:06, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No. The article of Screen http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ is very clear. It says that Alka won 4 awards from 15 nominations. You have to consider info in totality. You cannot ignore this official Screen article. ANKMALI (talk) 01:25, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So? 4 Awards? What makes think she won in this particular year? Bhosle won the award that year, period. As for her 4 awards, try to find it in other reliable sources. ShahidTalk2me 07:48, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There could've been a tie in 2002. How come there's no confusion in any other Screen award ? There are atleast 3 sources citing Alka Yagnik as winner of 2002 Screen Award. Further even the official site acknowledges that Alka Yagnik won the award 4 times. I feel you should refer the matter to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard . As I said you have to take info in totality. ANKMALI (talk) 08:12, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:SYNTH to understand we do not combine sources to make one conclusion. Reliable sources mention Asha as the only winner of the award in that year - not a single reliable source has been provided for Alka's "win". ShahidTalk2me 22:26, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shahid , please note that your so called " reliable sources " are write ups only on Asha so obvoiusly will not mention any other singer in them . ANKMALI (talk) 06:02, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As per Screen magazine Alka Yagnik won Special Award for her renditions in Kasoor hence wasn't nominated during the year . http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ But her total Screen Awards are 4 . ANKMALI (talk) 10:56, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here it is. Asha Bhosle receiving the award. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 03:28, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think it's time to restore the article to the way it was with Asha as the winner. If someone can help resolve the Alka issue below, we would be grateful. BollyJeff || talk 12:11, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Screen Awards of Alka Yagnik[edit]

This page is currently only showing 2 Screen awards for Alka Yagnik whereas the official Screen Awards site http://www.screenindia.com/news/Screen-Roll-Of-Honour/11830/ states that she's won 4 Screen Awards from 15 nominations. Hence this page needs serious rectification. ANKMALI (talk) 04:22, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
