This band page should not be deleted as it meets more than one of Wikipedia's criterion on music. As follows: 1) Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself. (see citation 26 for Metal Hammer magazine, citation 27 for Music To Die For by Mick Mercer on Cherry Red Books, citation 31 The NME, citation 33 Dominion/Terrorizer Magazine and citation 35 "Worldwide Gothic". Independent Music Press) 2) Has released three albums on an independent label with a history of more than a few years (see references to Resurrection Records) 3) Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles. (see references to bassist/violinist Jo Violet of the March Violets) 4) Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. I agree with the above. The band were one of the hardest working bands in the goth scene for a long time, recording and gigging all over the country. I suspect Paul S doesnt know anything about the gothic scene, and therefore believes this band are not important or infuential. Just because a band is not on a major record label does not mean their importance and inclusion in Wikipedia should be lessened. Nevla (talk) 19:50, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, this belongs with the deletion discussion - click on "This articles's entry" in the deletion box on the main page. I'm sorry but I must question all of Gothtart's points:

1) Mick Mercer is either self-publishing or the information on SBA is a trivial part of the larger Music To Die For book (itself published by an indie record label and not widely available) while the other citations are goth/metal fanzines; how much attention did NME pay to them, were they, for instance, on the cover or was it essentially just a listing?

2) From WP:BAND "...two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels" Resurrection Records are neither major nor an important indie label; the bands signed to them are largely unknown goth or industrial bands, the only notable in the list is probably Inkubus Sukkubus, whose stuff they have only re-released anyway.

3) Jo Violet is certainly not notable on her own and the criterion of "two or more independently notable musicians" would still not have been met if she were.

4) You're saying that the most prominent local scene in York from 2001 to 2010 was goth? I think you must have misread WP:BAND.

5) Total Rock (now Bloodstock) Radio only do occasional podcasts and URY is York University's student radio station! Are you seriously suggesting this constitutes being "placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network"? Paul S (talk) 01:03, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
