It would be interesting, and I believe a useful part of the article, to include the history of scan conversion. It would have been needed early on, for TV transmissions that had to cross the world. My first thought is Olympic events. The technology would have been very expensive in the early years, but when it was possible, at least one place in the international TV world, someone would have done it.

In another forum, someone was asking about live coverage of Apollo moon landing, which also needed scan conversion. NASA used their own TV system, with lower line and frame rates, and it needed conversion for live TV. As I understand it, it was doing pointing a video camera at a CRT display. I suspect that was done, at least a few times, and world TV, before electronic conversion became possible. Gah4 (talk) 19:46, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
