Possible COI[edit]

I have been working to expand this article but, as a part-time employee of the organization in question would like to be sure to openly declare my possible COI. I did not start this page, but have worked to expand it neutrally based only on third-party articles and reports. I only recently discovered the official policies on this subject and rather than undo my work, wished to make a declaration here. Saylor Foundation → Saylor Academy – Simple enough: the organization calls itself Saylor Academy, and has for some time. This is how the organization describes itself at saylor.org. Recent news coverage from The Chronicle of Higher Education, U.S. News & World Report, and Time all refer to it as "Saylor Academy". These changes should also be reflected in the text of the article, but as Mr. Saylor is a client, I should not be the person to change them—I avoid direct editing of all articles for which I have a financial COI. Name change and executive director update[edit]

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

Reaching out to the community on behalf of the Saylor Academy's founder, Michael J. Saylor (and his firm MicroStrategy), I recently, successfully, sought to have this article moved from Saylor Foundation to the present name, Saylor Academy. Today I have two follow-up requests:

The article text is now is out-of-date: it refers to the Academy as the "Foundation" as a proper noun four times, and "foundation" as a common noun a few more. All of the uppercase instances need to be updated to "Academy" and perhaps some of the lowercase instances should be as well. In addition to the edit request template, I'm pinging Coffee and Dekimasu, who were involved in the move.
The executive director named at the end of the lead section is no longer with the Saylor Academy, and should be removed. If another editor prefers to identify her successor, it is Jeff Davidson, verified by the same primary source already in the references.

New draft available[edit]

Hi! I'm Andrew with MicroStrategy. I created a new draft of this article for editors to review.

We were inspired to create this new draft in light of the current state of the existing sourcing. It seemed like a good idea to start from scratch, so that's what I've done. Only one of the article's seven references qualifies as a reliable source; Moodlenews.com, a Forbes contributor piece, eLearningInside News, Collegeopentextbooks.org, a Saylor Academy media kit, and Mozilla Wiki seem to be less-than-ideal sources.

My full draft is uploaded in my user space: User:Andrewggordon84/Saylor_Academy_draft. In addition to a shortened introduction and infobox, my draft includes sections on History and Courses. History contains new information on the history of Saylor Academy reflecting the most up-to-date sourcing available. Detail in the article's current sections Courses and Accreditation and Credentialing are no longer accurate and have been updated accordingly in my draft. Additionally, I chose to forego the Accreditation and Credentialing section, opting to include pertinent information in more substantial versions of the sections History and Courses. Where sourcing is unavailable, I omitted specific figures that are now inaccurate.

Since this might be a lot to look at in one shot, I suggest editors review this piece by piece. Can we start with History?

As a member of MicroStrategy's digital marketing team, I am the company's current sole representative on Wikipedia. Per Wikipedia rules of engagement, I will not be making edits to MicroStrategy-related articles and will be making suggestions on article discussion pages.
