Copy of the danish version[edit]

This page got deleted before, but since it is a direct translation of the danish page, i think its a bad decision.

Again, it is a translation of the danish one, so close relations shouldn't matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnus bjerg (talkcontribs) 15:11, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What matters is that the subject meets the criteria for a stand alone article WP:GNG and that any translations and copying are done within the Wikipedia:Translation procedures.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:16, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is a direct translation of the danish page, using wikipedias translation tool. --Magnus bjerg (talk) 19:05, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Content from Wikipedia and other user generated sources is not valid sourcing -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:24, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If the Danish version also has no references to indicate notability, then it too should probably be deleted. Theroadislong (talk) 19:21, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
probably. but Danish Wikipedia is not English Wikipedia. Their admins and users will need to deal with their messes, but you can propose deletion there and let them know.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:24, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the subject meets the criteria at WP:Music. The first reference provided is actually a reliable reference per wikipedia's notability standards. Further articles in Opera, Opernwelt, Musical Denmark, and Nordic Sounds cover this subjects work as can be seen in this google books search. The subject is notable.4meter4 (talk) 23:50, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and COI[edit]

This is a notable Danish opera librettist and opera director. The references I have added are only a few of the ones available. I have also removed the highly inappropriate COI tag. Please read Template:COI/doc for its appropriate use. Voceditenore (talk) 01:22, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you get into a WP:PROD dustup[edit]

You might want to add sources, enhance the article, and post a notice of the proposed deletion on ALL the relevant project pages. These activities should not be done in the back room. 7&6=thirteen () 19:50, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article had been simultaneously PROD-ed and nominated for speedy deletion [1]. In any case, what "back room" activities are you referring to? It seemed like a sensible thing to do to ask WikiProject Opera for assistance in sourcing the article about an opera librettist [2], assistance which was duly provided. Even in its unreferenced state, it clearly was not an A7. As for the PROD, the more appropriate one would have been BLP PROD. Voceditenore (talk) 07:41, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, a BLP PROD wasn't appropriate either since one of the external links in the original form of the article was an article about her in the Dansk Musik Tidsskrift (Journal of Danish Music), hence it wasn't unreferenced. That article is now one of the inline citations. Having said that, simply running that link through Google Translate, would have indicated enough material to support a credible claim to notability.
