I think the main problem with this article is that it is not expansive enough. I think more info is needed, including and especially history. I've also included some other problems with the article than can be improved.

Lead[edit]

"The Sanja Matsuri (三社祭, Three Shrine Festival?), or the Sanja Festival, is one of the three great Shinto festivals in Tokyo, along with the Kanda Matsuri and Sanno Matsuri, and it is considered one of the wildest and largest."

"Wildest and largest" definitely needs a reference.

"Its purpose is to honor three men who established and founded Sensō-ji."

Who are the three men?

History[edit]

The terms "kami", "bosatsu", and Kannon" all needs translations.

Description of events[edit]

Translate "taiko". Also, you should probably just merge all the sub-sections. And, "Day 3, Sunday" needs referencing.

Listing for OTD[edit]

A suggestion was made at WP:ERRORS to consult with editors of this article to see what day would be best for showing this article on the main page. Until now, I had been going with what the infobox said ("3rd Sunday of May") but since the festival actually starts on the prior Friday (and I changed the infobox accordingly) maybe that would be a better place to put it? Your input is requested. Thank you. howcheng {chat} 15:45, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The festival definitely starts on the Friday, but it's a build up to the most important day, Sunday. If you are going by a start date though, it should definitely be Friday. Are there other examples of this kind of days long festival in On This Day? --TorsodogTalk 04:00, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Most other multi-day observances/festivals get listed on the first day. Sanja is the only one (that I can think of right now) where the last day is the most important, so that's why I wanted to see which day is best to put it on. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 02:27, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
