– There are two footballers with this name, separated only by the double-dotted "ï" in the name of the Malian footballer. At this point one is just "footballer" and the other is "Senegalese footballer". One of them has "ï", the other has "i". Seems like disambiguation enough. Comment I would make Salif Keita into a disambiguaiton page for these three people. If you use just an accent for disambiguation, then Salif Keita (Senegalese footballer) would move to Salif Keita (footballer). Oppose - with all respect to both footballers, the musician is WP:PRIMARY by a long margin. As the cover of Soro (album) shows the tréma is usually written to separate the vowels, both footballers are also written this way, so cannot be used for disambiguation. Oppose. I don't see how ï is anywhere near necessary disambiguation. The overwhelming WP:PRIMARYTOPIC here considering the page views is the current Salif Keita:

[1] Salif Keïta (footballer) has been viewed 2236 times in the last 90 days.

[2] Salif Keita (Senegalese footballer) has been viewed 926 times in the last 90 days.

[3] Salif Keita has been viewed 38487 times in the last 90 days.
