Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because...

I have provided two references. Just because something is esoteric or minority interest doesn't mean it's not notable. VenomousConcept (talk) 16:17, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@VenomousConcept: The band already had an article which was deleted back in May 2017 per WP:PROD as an uncontested deletion. I took the liberty of interpreting your comment here as a late contention of this deletion and have thus restored the previous article's history. Feel free to revert to a previous state with more information. However, declining to speedy delete does not mean the article is safe, it can still be deleted via the articles for deletion process. If you want to avoid this, you need to provide better references, i.e. reliable sources. Regards SoWhy 16:34, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Notability is defined in two ways for a band. They can meet Wikipedia's general notability criteria and that doesn't seem to be the case, but the band's name makes finding sources a bit difficult. They can also meet the notability criteria for musicians and ensembles. Again, I can't find any sources to support that. So while the band may be esoteric or of minority interest, they don't meet the project's notability criteria as a result. Also, one of your two references, metal-archives.com, is not a reliable source. It's fan-generated content. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:32, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
