Rio Tinto CEO founds corporate owned "charity"[edit]

"The Death Valley Conservancy nonprofit charity is led by the former Rio Tinto Chief Executive of Energy & Minerals, Preston Chiaro, as the DVC's President."

As stated in the article the Ryan parcels are owned by the 501C3 charity created by the former CEO of US Borax / Rio Tinto Minerals when he was CEO . According to best information, he made that decision ie to "donate" the property to his own "charity" himself, as CEO of Rio Tinto Minerals at the time. Rio Tinto received a large tax break from the public as a result. Of course the Rio hierarchy and top 'leadership' had to agree to the creation of their own 'charity' as well by their CEO, and expended significant legal resources in making a case for a lack of conflict of interest there. As a result Ryan Camp is subsidized by public donations, and a Rio Tinto Corporate Trust which provided significant public tax benefits to Rio Tinto. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Montoya44 (talkcontribs) 17:13, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
