Image[edit]

I added File:Гидрографическое судно Челекен.jpg, a sister ship of Liman to the article, but it was removed by LukeSurl. As there is no free image of Liman available, I though this was a good compromise. Should the image be used or not? Mjroots (talk) 15:21, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I felt it's misleading to picture a ship that isn't Liman, though I would not remove it again if were re-added. Maybe a fair use argument be made for a copyrighted Liman image? As the ship is now sunk it's analogous to the case of a dead person regarding the replacability with free media. --LukeSurl t c 16:57, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The ship was to all intents and purposes identical to Cheleken. It is acceptable to use such images in these situations. Mjroots (talk) 17:48, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ukranian use?[edit]

The 1998–1999 edition of Combat Fleets of the World stated that Liman (listed as a survey ship) was transferred prior to 1992 to the city of Feodosia as a Navigational Aids Tender (p. 717), but was uncertain whether they were the property of the Ukranian Navy (p. 917).Nigel Ish (talk) 11:23, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
