so WRONG to put this in the lead for so long[edit]

I can't believe this sentence has been in the lead paragraph since 2012.

During Christmas season, the indigenous Mangyan people from the uplands go to this common destination to receive gifts from kindhearted lowlanders mostly in the form of old clothing, bread, rice and even money.

MOS:LEAD wiki leads should contain article overviews, establish notability and summarize important points. This sentence is none of those. I appreciate P199's extensive contributions, I really do, but this sentence is out of place. It does not belong in the lead. Sure, this practice could be mentioned in one of the sections but also the language used is also not fit for an encyclopedic entry. Please do not revert it back.
