in the last sent of 1st 'graph of the lead section: I keep staring at the image to the right of the text "... a large rosette is sometimes pinned onto the ribbon which suspends a medal" and not seeing any resemblance between the shapes of the rosette in the image and of a bow knot (which is currently a Rdr to Shoelace knot. Please state what features the shapes are supposed to have in common. Perhaps it would help to describe what operations are involved in creating a rosette, thereby clarifying what its structure is. (The image suggests to me that it is folded and sewn, perhaps involving pleats, but the structure of the rim-like circular edge structure is mysterious.)
