The text of this article is essentially a copy of Rock 'n' Roll (John Lennon album)‎, a previously-existing article, and contains both duplicate information, and information removed from that article. Roots was an unauthorized version of Rock 'n' Roll, with slightly different mixdowns and a very brief shelf life. There is no need for a separate article about this album; its whole history is the history of the Rock 'n' Roll album. Zephyrad (talk) 23:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it's TWO DIFFERENT ALBUMS from the same sessions. there is some duplicate info, but there is also specific info to each. Hotcop2 (talk) 01:00, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it's merged with the Rock N Roll article. this page is redundant. Hotcop2 (talk) 15:05, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the two articles have been split as to cut down on repitition. Hotcop2 (talk) 18:09, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why capitalize the whole word "Roots"?[edit]

Why does the title of this article capitalize "ROOTS" in ROOTS: John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits? "Roots" isn't an acronym. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:59, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the nature of the poorly designed and retarded cover, it wasn't clear that the name of the album was "Roots" and the rest was a subtitle. But, to answer the question, there's really no need for all caps in Roots. Hotcop2 (talk) 23:03, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
