Questions / observations[edit]

  • A large amount of very detailed, apparently carefully written, and totally unsourced information has recently been added to this article. Where did all this information come from?
  • In the table headed "Distrito: Politico-Military Commandancia de Romblon, Ano: 1861"
  1. The population column has two cases where there is a double-quote character instead of a numeric figure. What should go in the table at these points?
  2. Taking those double-quote character to mean zero, the population figures by my calculation add up to 18,788. The table gives a total, however, of 18,488.
  3. What do "/1" through "/17" mean in this table? They look like references to footnotes, but I don't see any footnotes.
  • In the table headed "Population of Romblon at Various Time", I added the "1897" column and got 6,687. The total figure for that column given in the table is 6,731. (I was just spot-checking here, I haven't added the other columns yet).

The "Burial Caves" section contains the statement: "At one instance, I personally examined one of these coffins out of curiosity." Who is the person referred to here as "I"? Is this person the person who added all this material to the article? Is this person the holder of the copyright on the material? -- Boracay Bill (talk) 01:19, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrote addition to "Local Government" section.[edit]

This edit, which added an introductory paragraph to the Local Government section, caught my eye. I have severely rewritten it here. The re-write removes an unsupported assertion saying, "The provincial government have political jurisdiction over local transactions of the municipal government.", which is unclear to me and appears dubious. I similarly question the assertion there saying, "government officials in the provincial level are voted by the electorates of the town". My understanding is that provincial officials are elected province-wide. This source probably addresses those issues, but it is a primary source, and I don't know offhand of citeable secondary sources re these points.
