Edit warring by TarifaXxx[edit]

TarifaXxx won't stop adding copyrighted pictures he/she uploaded to Commons (license laundering). SLBedit (talk) 14:59, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SLBedit this now includes adding an image (or a cropped version) where that exists in the Benfica section. I think that's more than enough. Cheers -- Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 19:50, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. That is annoying. His/her account activity is basically edit warring over pictures. SLBedit (talk) 20:25, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Condensing "Benfica" section[edit]

This is a draft for a shorter "Benfica" section without 7 wiki links (Primeira Liga, Benfica, Jupp Heynckes, 2022–23 season, O Clássico, Porto and Braga) and 4 references (as of the writing of this entry, 33, 40, 41 and 45):

On 18 May 2022, Schmidt signed a two-year deal with Primeira Liga club Benfica. He became the second German to be appointed as manager of the club, with the first being Jupp Heynckes. Benfica began the 2022–23 season by winning their first thirteen games across Liga and Champions League (qualifying and group stages), marking the club's best start to a season in 39 years. On 21 October, Schmidt won his first O Clássico, ending Benfica's nine-match winless run against arch-rivals Porto. Benfica's good form made the team unbeatable for 29 matches, before a 3–0 away defeat against Braga on 30 December.

Some notes: no need for all the information about transfers on the first paragraph and lost competitions on the third. The part about the "club record" on the Champions League group stage is relevant can be added again, but I am in favor of an overall sentence mentioning the whole campaign. Besteirense (talk) 19:30, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My view on the current section: the part about the signings is overkill. The information on the ongoing Champions League campaign is excessive. The paragraph about the Taça da Liga, Taça de Portugal is understandable, although it can be shrinked. SLBedit (talk) 17:54, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If Benfica wins Primeira Liga, that honor deserves to be mentioned; if not, there is no need for detailing the losses on every competition when a brief and straight "trophyless season" is enough. I will update my version to include the Champions League part and update the section. Besteirense (talk) 21:31, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it makes sense. I have trimmed down the section a little bit more. SLBedit (talk) 22:26, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Footbaler?[edit]

What exactly is a "footbaler"? GoodDay (talk) 15:40, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing by 2a01:cb19:9086:a400:*[edit]

A person using IPv6 addresses has been edit warring at the Managerial statistics: [1] [2] [3]. Basically, that person thinks that matches that ended in a draw are either a win or a loss, but they aren't. UEFA and Wikipedians consider them draws, no matter the outcome of a penalty shoot-out. SLBedit (talk) 14:27, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Again. SLBedit (talk) 15:49, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pffff .... Sources: Sofascore, Transfermarkt and all the data applications : 63-11-10 2A01:CB19:9086:A400:B957:9836:3246:A41D (talk) 22:40, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sofascore doesn't seem reliable, as it counts draws as wins or losses. Transfermarkt isn't a reliable source. "All the data applications" is a lie. Zerozero.pt is reliable in terms of statistics; it doesn't count draws as wins/losses. SLBedit (talk) 00:09, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
