August 2005 attack[edit]

All,

I would like to start by saying I prefer to !vote keep in AfD, I like to keep content that meets all of the policies and guidelines. This one is a movable feast, keeps changing and morphing, so who know where we'll end up.

I don't really want to edit this article too much, for fear of attracting criticism, but have fully cited the Gaouette book about the attack on the two US ships for everyone's ease. However, this causes a few problems for the article in its current state. The book actually attributes the change in US Navy security protocols to the previous attack mentioned in the book - suicide attacks in 2004. You can read this from the link I created in the ref. It also shows that this attack took place in Aqaba and wasn't an attack on Eliat or Aqaba but on the US ships.

I know this doesn't really help your cause, but it needs pointing out. Bigger digger (talk) 02:58, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Split[edit]

Article must be split, it implies that Aqaba is frequently targeted along with Eilat. Makeandtoss (talk) 12:50, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 17 October 2017[edit]

There was another attack recently. Something about this should be added to article? Don't you think?--181.91.65.132 (talk) 21:14, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. SparklingPessimist Scream at me! 21:19, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

According to Arab media, after two rockets landed in the Eshkol region causing no damage or injuries, Israeli aircraft struck targets in the area of Rafah and Sheikh Zweid in northern Sinai. ISIS claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks.[1]

Eshkol region of Israel is nowhere near Eilat or Aqaba. Flayer (talk) 05:39, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Rocket Attack on Eilat[edit]

On October 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM UTC + 3 a new rocket attack was launched by paramilitary groups in Gaza targeting barracks in and around Eilat. It's unknown if this is an Ayyash-250, the rockets used to attack Ramon Airport and Beer Ora during the "Sayful Quds" operation or the new rumoured "Tufan" liquid fuel missile. It would be fair to add this to the article, especially as new information surfaces. A.H.T Videomapping (talk) 15:11, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
