Move to "Rock fandom in Eastern Bloc"?[edit]

Article's name looks publicistic, not encyclopedic. What it actually covers is a history of rock fandom in Eastern bloc. Its relation to "fall of communism" only dealt with in a couple of paragraphs. Beaumain (talk) 06:18, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Too much opinion[edit]

This article is not encyclopedic. Seems to me like original research.

This article should be deleted[edit]

Anyone who knows anything about history knows that music, especially recorded music, has had no effect on world events. there were a number of factors that lead to the fall of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc, music wasn't one of them. if you think some slavs heard Twisted Sister, said "Actually I like capitalism now", and overthrew the USSR, you've got another thing coming. The premise of the article is ridiculous and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia, so I believe this article should be deleted. I don't know how this editing stuff works, so Vote for Deletion?

...only reproduces the thesis of part of Western propaganda that "rock overthrew the Wall". Bullshit: The "Wall" and communism collapsed because it was economically inefficient; while rock music was used in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc as a convenient way of channelling the moods of young people (ventilation theory) - and also as a way of getting surplus money from the market (concerts of western stars): young people spent their money willingly... Let's see examples from Hungary and Poland, or finally from the former Yugoslavia - and not only from the USSR. BTW: there is an untrue sentence in this article: „…and the concert planners pointed the speakers over the wall so that East Berliners would be ready and could enjoy the concert..”. I was at this concert (1987) and I have photos - you can see that the main stage was not as set up as the author writes.
