Image copyright problem with Image:Sherman Brothers Songbook.jpg[edit]

The image Image:Sherman Brothers Songbook.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Brotherly love - hardly[edit]

The picture we get is one of brotherly love and warmth, but that was far from the case. We’re told here that they quarrelled massively and violently. They did not even socialise for over 40 years. At public premieres, they and their families would sit on opposite sides of the theater. We need to say something about the truth behind the saccharine image they presented. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 00:57, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

1958 song[edit]

I'm looking for advice from a Sherman expert - or at least someone with access to sources that I don't have - possibly Howard352?. The song "Mad Passionate Love" was a hit in Britain in 1958 for comic actor Bernard Bresslaw. The song's lyrics are here - it's essentially a novelty song. That site, and the sheet music here, and the record label, all credit the songwriting to Dick Sherman and Dave Coleman. Is this one and the same Dick Sherman? It pre-dates his writings with his brother for Annette Funicello, etc., and therefore could be his earliest charting hit as this site suggests. Or it could be an entirely different, possibly British, Dick Sherman. And who is/was Dave Coleman? I've done my best with Google, without much success, but a published bio of the Shermans might contain some more information. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:53, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
