Just a minor point of clarification: It was orignally stated "While at the book signing, which was also a party to celebrate Mimi's 21st birthday, Farina saw a guest with a motorcycle and went for a ride up Carmel Valley Road..." This is actually not true - the book-signing and the birthday party were separate events. After the book-signing, the couple attended a party held at Pauline Bryan’s (Joan & Mimi’s sister) house nearby. It was there that Farina saw a guest, Willie Hinds, with a motorcycle, and left to take a ride.

David Hadju’s book (written in cooperation with Mimi Farina) contains a very detailed account of that day. CagedRage 21:01, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There was a rumor that Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me was actually written by Thomas Pynchon--can someone please track down a reference to this? Thanks. 2Frann89 (talk) 21:17, 11 August 2019 (UTC)2Frann89[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Celebrations for a grey day.jpg[edit]

Image:Celebrations for a grey day.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

External Link suggestion[edit]

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this article about Richard and Mimi Fariña's Reflections in a Crystal Wind. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the review and—if he or she sees fit—post it as an external link. I appreciate your time.
