clarifications and post band updates[edit]

Ok!! I managed to fill in a LOT of holes here, luckilly there is a lot of information on this band online, so it wasn't that difficult. I think it is a heck of a lot better now and I did my best to source everything, I figured since they have a new record out and are touring behind it, i'd move this up on my personal queue of "to do" items. Top pocket man 20:31, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoever did the last edit put in some great stuff, i'm going to clean up the tense a little bit, remove a few trivial things and source a few things that didn't have any. Top pocket man (talk) 20:53, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ok, I think that's better, not as much confusing past and present tense, the band is broken up now. Also resourced with dates and updates, also I cut out a lot of music reviews as well, if people want to find those they can. Top pocket man (talk) 21:04, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little amazed at the lack of updates here, but i'll take that as a testament to my writing skills. :) I will attempt to integrate the "trivia" section as much as possible into the main article, but I have several more articles I want to work on first. Top pocket man (talk) 23:18, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia section integrated, vandalism removed, a few grammar corrections. A few updates on related acts. Top pocket man (talk) 17:24, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what started as a minor edit became far, far more... added some more citations. Broke out the "post band work" section because of notability and fixed/found some dead links. Took out some clunky language and generally improved (I hope). The amount of dead links is exhausting, but not unsurprising since some of the sources were smaller zines that no longer exist. If I have some time in the future, I will try my best to find things. However, even a "large" publication like the San Francisco Bay Guardian has totally killed their archives, so that might be a hard thing to do!! Top pocket man (talk) 21:04, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Added more citations, changed tense and removed not notable elements. The thing with The Arctic Monkeys seems incredibly hard to understand this far to move. That said: it appears to have been a minor controversy at least in bay area press/music scene. So it stays, but I changed the language. The song that bears similarity to the Arctic Monkeys song did indeed come earlier by four years, but it's on the band's objectively least listened to record. Anyway, I like the item now. Proposed Deletion/AfD[edit]

While it is true that the band has gone on a tour, and that they have produced two albums...they do not appear to meet WP:MUSIC because touring in and around San Fransisco (with a couple of shows in Seattle and Portland) can hardly be considered a national concert tour, and without a more clear definition of what "one of the more important indie labels" means, the two albums were not released by "one of the more important indie labels". --Bugwit grunt / scribbles 17:01, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Did you happen to take a look at their website before prodding/AfDing? They've toured the US in 2001, check the dates. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEME?) 17:39, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, I have looked at their website. The picture of the band in concert that greets you when you visit their page says a lot about their notability, and the listing of their tour dates includes notes such as "notable for the fact that one paying customer showed up." I do see where they have made appearances outside their local scene, but apparently not since 2002. --Bugwit grunt / scribbles 17:54, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yet you claim non-notability because they didn't meet WP:MUSIC. The fact of the matter is that they, in fact, do meet WP:MUSIC. Plenty of bands don't tour outside their own region for a number of years, that's luckily not what WP:MUSIC entails. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEME?) 17:58, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • You've got your take...I've got mine. The purpose behind my nominating the article for AfD is to generate a consensus as to the noteworthiness of the band and allow the community to decide, rather than to act unilaterally. If others see it your way, they stay, and vice-versa. --Bugwit grunt / scribbles 18:50, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The problem, of course, is that consensus, for better or worse, already came up with notability guidelines that you seem to want to unilaterally ignore to try and reach a separate AfD consensus. Whatever, hopefully people go the right way at the AfD. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEME?) 20:03, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • My point is that this band, along with many others, may or may not meet WP:MUSIC, given that the definitions of notability are vague enough to allow room to question each on an individual basis. My view is that the "ReplicaTour" was more of an extended roadtrip than a concert tour. Based on my interpretation of the WP:MUSIC guidelines, I questioned the validity of the article by {{prod}}ing and AfDing it. If that is unilaterally ingnoring consensus, then so be it. --Bugwit grunt / scribbles 23:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • My point was that we have guidelines to run by, and it's pretty clear this band meets the guideline. You disagree, it goes to AfD, but I don't get how you think it doesn't meet the guideline, since you based the prod/AfD on not meeting it when it does. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEME?) 03:40, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--ConanNeutron Hi! I'm in this band... I was alerted to this by a fan (it pays to have geeky friends and fans) if you look at our [1]show archive it's all on the table. We've toured the west coast multiple times, the midwest a few times and have indeed toured coast to coast. 2006/2007 plans include another US tour, and either Europe or elsewhere.

We don't get out as much as we'd like... what can I say?

We didn't put this page up here, and I sometimes wonder myself if we're "big enough" to qualify, but now that's up, it'd be nice if it was kept around... as for the please contact me at [email protected] if you'd like to request any information.

Tiny peloton and cartographer[edit]

Added Tiny Peloton, took out link to Cartographer. Which is notable, but doesn’t necessitate a page of its own, perhaps as a section for a Ben Adrian page? HeyHeyHayden (talk) 16:56, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
