Citations

Does anyone mind if I convert the citations from embedded HTML links to footnotes? I would like to take advantage of using one footnote to cite multiple references. See WP:CITE#HOW for the differences.

Fair use rationale for Image:Union Planters Bank logo.jpg

Image:Union Planters Bank logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Corrected the fair use rationale. I believe the issue was that the old fair use rationale linked to Regions rather than Regions Financial Corporation. Hopefully this will fix it for good.

BadRegions.com?

Currently, the links at the bottom of the page include the website www.badregions.com which is listed as the bank's Unofficial Website. A quick glance at the page reveals that the bank itself has little to do with it, as the page identifies itself as a complaint site, with such things as "Want to join a class action lawsuit?" on the homepage. The apparently misleading nature of the link title aside for a moment, I do not feel that a complaint site meets the standards Wikipedia should have with regards to sources. Were it a site simply documenting events, that would be one thing, but badregions does not present itself as such. Ordinarily, I'd delete this link outright, but as past history shows, the link was here (and deleted) priorly. Before I delete it again, I would like to know if anybody knows of a reason why this site should remain on the page. If not, I am inclined to believe that the site detracts from the quality of the page as per Wikipedia:Reliable sources 141.166.253.200 (talk) 19:47, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Clarification requested

In the "Company history to 2000" section, there is a paragraph discussing the historic nature of a building in Huntsville, stating that it was used as a bank for 170 years, but the next sentence says that it was used as a hospital during the Civil War. I did a little copy-editing, because what was there was not grammatically sound, but I don't think that I took out anything important, and the question still remains--was it also used as a bank during the Civil War (which would need a note to clarify), or is the building historic because it was built as a bank 170 years ago, and was used as a bank until last year, with only a break for the war? Or is there some other reason that I'm not seeing? Since there are no references in that paragraph, it's not possible to go see what the citations say. Horologium (talk) 19:14, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
