Huang, 1587, a Year of No Significance, was a finalist for the National Book Award twice: 1982 hardcover History; 1983 paperback History. (There were dual hardcover and paperback awards 1980 to 1983 only.) For a few years beginning 1980 these awards were called "American" but they are now recognized as part of "National" history.
