Stanley style[edit]

The Stanley three-finger banjo picking style is not characterized by "incredibly fast backward rolls", but by strict forward rolls. Therefore did this little change in the main article. --Forquett (talk) 09:45, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Distinctive voice[edit]

I know he calls himself "Dr" Ralph Stanley. I believe the honorary degrees don't come with the right to run around calling yourself a "Dr". At least that was the way it was done when I was in college. To hear Ralph's distinctive singing, find the Ralph Stanley channel on Pandora. You'll hear alot of his singing as a young man with his brother. He had a great voice and could really sing.

Finger Poppin' Time[edit]

"Finger Poppin' Time" was recorded by Hank Ballard. It's hard for me to believe there was a Stanley Brothers version. Is this the same song? Kendall-K1 (talk) 01:14, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As strange as it sounds, the Stanley Brothers indeed recorded a version of the same song. From what I understand, their weren't too thrilled about that, but the record company pressured it unto them.
