Outline for upcoming changes[edit]

Add a marriage and family section: Married his niece, Alice De Lancey, who was the daughter of Peter De Lancey of Westchester in 1767. He and his wife had 14 children together, but only seven survived past early childhood. Most notable children were George Izard- gov. of Arkansas and Ralph Izard- a naval hero. While he focused on his work in the American Revolution, his family stayed in France until 1783 when they joined him in America.

Additions and reorganizing of the death and legacy section: When he retired-1795. Within 2 years of his retirement, he was stricken with an illness that paralyzed him on one side of his body and treatment did nothing. Make the phrasing of his legacy more clear/ better organized.
