Raimudo Panikkar thinks that in traditional Indian belief it often appears that God does not relate to the world. This presents specific conceptual problems when communicating the Christian belief in the Incarnation of Christ in the Indian subcontinent. With his mixed Catholic-Hindu upbringing, Pannikar strives to state that Christ does relate to the world in a deep and meaningful way.

Hindu?

He said he was a hindu as well, he wrote a translation of the vedas and he partook in hindu activities...can't i add that to the bottom categories?Domsta333 (talk) 13:25, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Panikkar is honored as a pioneer of inter-spirituality by Wayne Teasdale in his book "The Mystic Heart." His mother was Spanish and his father was from Pakistan. He therefore, in addition to being a Roman Catholic priest, had some level of indigenous roots in both the Hindu and Buddhist religious cultures. He was a theologian of the highest intellectual caliber, who essentially forged a tremendous bridge across these diverse religious philosophies. His theology is characterized by his trinitarianism. At the very bottom, he saw God as three-in-one, rather than simply one, as in the case of monism or non-dualism. Raimon Panikkar's works will probably become known as some of the truly greatest attempts to show the common truth inherent in these differing religions.
