No consensus' to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:15, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

– the current Article called 'Rabinder Singh' is a biographical stub and redirect to 'Rabinder Singh (suspect CIA mole)', the Bio Article 'Rabinder Singh (barrister)' should be place on the page 'Rabinder Singh' as the article is far more comprhensive and reagrding a much more significant and notable figure thant the current stub and redirect.thank you. • Oppose. I'm not convinced that this article is the primary target for searches for Rabinder Singh. It's better to leave this article disambiguated as (barrister) and leave the unqualified Rabinder Singh article as a disambiguation page.
Also, I have struck the second move from the nomination. As noted above, InExcelsisDeo already moved Rabinder Singh to Rabinder Singh (suspect CIA mole). I think we all agree that it's better to have the unqualified article as a dab page than an article on the intelligence officer; we just disagree on the dab term. Accordingly, I have boldly moved that page to Rabinder Singh (intelligence officer), which I feel is a more appropriate, more neutral disambiguation. If there's disagreement—that is, if the move of the article on the intelligence officer from its original title is controversial—then I think we need to remove the dab page, move the intelligence officer's page back to just plain Rabinder Singh, and start a separate move discussion on that page. —C.Fred (talk) 17:31, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am reviewing this, and see multiple problems at a glance. BencherliteTalk 15:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK here we go, from the top:

  1. Lead is "Rabinder Singh, QC (born 1964), styled as The Hon. Mr. Justice Singh, is a English barrister, founding member Matrix Chambers,Law Professor, Recorder in the Crown Court and High Court of Justice Judge." Problems: missing word (of Matrix Chambers); missing space between comma and next word; no need for capital letters in "Law Professor"; Recorder "in" the Crown Court is the wrong terminology; and he is not a High Court judge yet, so it shouldn't be phrased in the present tense.
  2. The lead is also far too short to pass WP:LEAD.
  3. Early life and education: very poor writing, and other problems...
    1. "Britain" is a dablink (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    2. "attending Bristol Grammar School", instead of "attended" (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    3. "From an early age Singh had and interest in the law and he like the thought of one day becoming an advocate." Two glaring mistakes
    4. "At Trinity Collge University of Cambridge" – should be "College", and preferably Trinity College, Cambridge (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    5. "how the law hold those in power to account" "– holds" (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    6. "called to the Bar(Lincolns Inn) in July 1989.[3] [2]" – should be a space after "Bar" and no space between the references. (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Career at the Bar - more on the same lines:
    1. "From 1997-2002" – should be "From 1997 to 2002" (Fixed) --InExcelsisDeo (talk) 06:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    2. Much of the prose in the subsections "4-5 Gray's Inn Square", "Matrix Chambers" and "Professional reputation (as counsel)" is unsourced
    3. And so is "Further cases", which shouldn't be in a collapsed box
    4. Too many bullet points, not enough prose
  5. High Court "exalted position" - NPOV?

I could go on, but the problems are too big to fix quickly. The article needs rewriting, as prose, and a proper copyedit before renomination. It's a quick-fail at this time. BencherliteTalk 15:13, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
