Assessment as of March 2007[edit]

Hello all, and thank you for contributing to this school site. I'm part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment team, and I'm reviewing this page. I'm currently giving it a grade of Stub on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale and an importance of High on this importance scale.

My reasoning is as follows: Nearly 700 years old, royal charter. Just needs pictures, references, and information. Adam McCormick 04:42, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite required[edit]

This whole entry is straight word for word lift off the school's website - which is not permitted on wikipedia. I will note the entry down for revision over coming days. The entry also has no inline references and no third-party references. Most of it reads like an advert, stuffed full of weasel words and POV. Major work is required here to get this anything like acceptable 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 14:27, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Right, I am done. Page reorganised and wikified. Some references added, new info box to replace the US High School one that was there before. Removed weasel words, advertising copy and reparaphrased the swathes of text copied directly from the school website. Not much more I can do. 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 19:57, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification?[edit]

"For much of its existence, Queen Elizabeth's was a boys' only day and boarding school. Girls were only admitted for the first time around the late 1900s" Late 1900s - does that mean late 20th century (ie, 1970s-1990s) or late in the decade of the 1900s, ie between 1905 and 1909? --Dandelions (talk) 12:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC

My guess would be in the latter years of the twentieth century, hopefully somebody could come up with an exact date. 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 13:57, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update request - article out of date[edit]

What would be the best way for us (the school) to request the correction of factual errors (the latest Ofsted report was Nov 2011[1]) and flag up that the article is a bit stale and out of date?

You're missing important events such as the formation of the Horncastle Umbrella Trust with Banovallum School[2].

I'm aware that we (as the subject under discussion) shouldn't edit the article ourselves, but we would like the information to be accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qegshorncastle (talkcontribs) 22:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References

If the changes are minor then I would make them to the article, but for more extensive or controversial changes you could propose the changes here on the talk page so that they can be reviewed and added to the article by another user. Keith D (talk) 23:10, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK. We'll make the factual changes (correct Chair of Governors, Ofsted report date, that QEGS is part of the HUT now) with references and then suggest anything else on the talk page. Thanks for responding. Qegshorncastle (talk) 08:41, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Updated the Ofsted report information, added the correct Chair of Governors to the info box [1] and revised pupil numbers to be accurate in the info box (top right). However, the pupil numbers at the beginning of the article are cited against the 2009 Ofsted report. Should I use the 2011 report that mentions 858 pupils [2] even though it's wrong, or the correct figure of 779, which I can't cite because I've just run the report on our student record system? The Horncastle Umbrella Trust info I'll draft and then propose as an edit for someone else to review. Qegshorncastle (talk) 11:23, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
