This article appears to be replicated within that on Illusionistic ceiling paintings. Perhaps they should be merged? DbelangeE (talk) 03:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, most of it is duplicated over at Illusionistic ceiling painting. A merge of some sorts is under discussion, and I think its mostly a matter of making the merge official (the discussion was only begun last weekend). Please see the ongoing discussion. Technically, quadratura includes wall and ceiling illusions, and not only ceiling (even though that aspect is most common). Personally, I suggest a more general mention of quadratura on the trompe l'oeil page and a deeper discussion as is on the ceiling paintings page.
Comments are welcome on consolidating:
* trompe l'oeil — needs own article
* illusionism (art) — covers more than trompe l'oil, and will probably work more like a glorified disambiguation page
* sotto in su and quadratura — content already merged together with illusionistic ceiling painting, but both should probably be made into redirects as per an official merge. Both concepts are often discussed in the same breath as trompe l'oeil, but there is additional information that wouldn't belong in that article.
I suggest giving it a little time for the articles to come together a bit more, and then making it official. --Stomme (talk) 05:55, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
