Clothing

I've added what is an essential sub-heading for a new section on the issue of clothing. But WHAT is the Qatari position on this? I cannot find any press material about it; will they insist that female fans (for example) are "properly" attired (by Islamic standards) or will they allow bikinis and the like in Football grounds? 2nd Paragraph

I would delete the entire 2nd paragraph. The article cited in the 1st sentence is just a match report. It does nothing to substantiate that it gave a feel for what the WC would be like. Additionally, it lends no support to the second sentence which appears to be just made up or taken from an uncited source. (i.e. no mention of fans traveling from other nations and no discussion of the game's impact on Qatar's image.) The 3rd and 4th sentences are suspect too. First of all the cited link is dead. Second of all I dont see how this tournament hosted 11 years ahead of the actual event and without the full complement of stadia would serve as a warm up, especially as the confederations cup hosted a year before a world cup is traditionally considered the warm up.

Most importantly I dont see how it contributes to the topic and it also seems to break the more natural flow between the 1st and 3rd paragraphs. Pschoenb (talk) 18:42, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Incorrect Date of Brazil v Argentina friendly

The second section lists the wrong date for the match held in Doha between Brazil and Argentina. The date makes no sense in the context of this article about the bid.

"In early 2016, Qatar hosted a friendly match between Brazil and Argentina. This was one of 47 international exhibition games held throughout the world on this day."

The cited article link is dead, but the page is in the Internet Archive and shows the match was played in November 2010. That is before Qatar's bid was accepted, and makes more sense as a reference for the bid to host international football.
