Sources[edit]

Could only find two sources on a quick search, this needs more. Here's what I found https://design.google.com/articles/evolving-the-google-identity/ http://thenextweb.com/google/2015/09/01/google-created-an-entirely-new-typeface-for-its-snappy-logo-redesign/#gref JamesG5 (talk) 06:14, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks, added those. Is it really included in current versions of Windows as an IP editor claimed? I don't have a Windows machine handy to test on but it seems unlikely. Blythwood (talk) 01:13, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I find it somewhat disturbing that Google can introduce a new font for nearly everything they do and nobody responds. Also why are they just allowed to steal Futura and use it for whatever they like? Because that's obviously what they've done. Muldrake (talk) 10:17, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page updates[edit]

More sources have been added, as well as the "Design" and "Usage" section. More still could be added, especially images and examples. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia editing, so I was wondering if this page would still be considered a "stub" after the latest update.TheAnonymousNerd (talk) 22:38, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Typeface sample is confusing[edit]

There is a single-story 'a' up top and then a couple of two-story 'a's below. The two 'y's don't match (and I'm not sure about the two 'k's either. Is there a reason for the variance? Sorry for the nitpick but these sample images are all about showing minute differences. Thanks. DavidRF (talk) 18:12, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Done, thanks. — kashmīrī TALK 19:04, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Eh? I thought that Google's font is proprietary?[edit]

Just to let you know about this issue.

There is this fan-made game "Sonic Project Hero", made by Chumzone Gaming Ent., containing Google's Product Sans font. See this post.

Any advice? Thanks! Wikipedia Vienna (talk) 08:46, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If it's a fan-made game, it's already possibly technically illegal. I mean, you could send an email to google, I guess, and hope that their lawyers come down like a ton of bricks on someone who's not making any money off of making a tribute to a game they love, but... what's the point? The creators of these Sonic fan games are already aware of potential copyright issues (http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Amateur_Games_Expo) so I'm not sure you calling them out would have any effect. Either way, if you really have concerns, take them up with the creator (original here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEcWQEQWY6w with links in description) or with google. Google Sans Mono[edit]

I found Google Sans Mono right here. I just accidently found this font that I Thought is only GS Text and Display, But is here. Look! :

GitHub Fonts (Static Version of Google Sans Mono) : https://github.com/mehant-kr/Google-Sans-Mono

I think is the additional font for Google Sans Text Font, I also found these from Google Design page too, So yeah... It's okay. Rio Xeliem (talk) 04:59, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't seem to be official. The GitHub page lists this random person (who probably isn't a Google employee) as the author. InfiniteNexus (talk) 23:49, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't believed it, Here : https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/comments/s1mk81/google_has_a_new_monospaced_font/
I cannot sure if this website is working on you country lived. Rio Xeliem (talk) 10:18, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Reddit isn't a reliable source, but the Google Fonts source code has me convinced. But we still need a source to include it in the article, and neither Reddit nor Google Fonts are going to cut it. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:51, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
