Amadeus' abdication[edit]

I don't have the sources, but if anybody does, such sources would help to explain why Emanuele didn't ascend the Spanish throne, after his father abdicated. GoodDay (talk) 04:18, 21 May 2011 (UTC) Spain was proclaimed a republic right shortly after this father abdicated before he could be proclaim. (KingOscarXIX (talk) 01:31, 1 August 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Prince of Asturias[edit]

He was briefly prince of Asturias during is father’s reign as king of Spain, shouldn’t it be added? Jorgebox4 (talk) 10:38, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta (1869–1931)Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta – The other Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta died aged 3 so this one is obviously the primary topic. No need for dates as disambiguation, hatnote is present as well. Killuminator (talk) 04:37, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support - I agree that this is definitely the primary topic. But I think any disambiguation could be avoided for either as I believe Italian dukes are numbered (royal or not). So it looks like this Emmanuele Filiberto was called the 2nd Duke of Aosta (his father Amedeo I of Spain being the first duke. The other Prince Emmanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta was the only Duke of his 'creation' (using British terms for Italy because I have no clue what the Italian equivalent may be). So I would say move Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta (1869–1931) to Prince Emanuele Filiberto, 2nd Duke of Aosta and Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta (1731–1735) to the base name, with a hatnote on both (or just the latter). estar8806 (talk) 13:16, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta. Oppose all other suggestions. Primary topic. Two dabs. Further disambiguation is not required. DrKay (talk) 13:25, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Prince Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta I'm not sure about the other suggestions either. But I do support moving this page to the suggested title on the ground that its subject is the primary topic and the only topic with this name at the moment for whom we have an article.
