Proposed Merge[edit]

This article has been neglected for a long time so has now become outdated, this is especially challenging when Cameron's government is often changing or modifying its stance on various issues: Cameron is always making new pledges and his political position is in a state a flux.

This makes it imperative to regularly update this article, however not enough contributers seem willing to do this and this is partly because significantly far fewer people are aware of its exsistence compared with the David Cameron article, meaning it is harder for it to get the attention it needs to stay accurate and relevant. Therefore I am suggesting we merge this article with the main David Cameron article. Reaganomics88 (talk) 20:38, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose The subject matter is notable enough to deserve inclusion and it's clearly impractical to shoehorn it all into the main article. Even parts of the existing main David Cameron article suffers to an extent from lack of attention, so an attempted merge would not resolve the problem of parts of it becoming outdated Dtellett (talk) 07:02, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article's proposal to be merged with David Cameron wins my favour as there is no concrete purpose within this article. The entire article is simply an except of Cameron's biography as to political positions. It lacks a clear with some of the points already mentioned in David Cameron. Article creation[edit]

This article was created in an attempt to fix the size problem with the current David Cameron article (96,489 bytes). This is based loosely on the the current style of "Political positions of x", where x is any popular American politician (for example, Political positions of Hillary Rodham Clinton). As a first draft, this is mostly just a copy and paste from the main article, and so it will definitely require editing to fit a new page. Vicarvictor 8:30pm (JST) 15/07/07

Re-arranging in an attempt to get a more logical order, continuing to use "Political positions of x" as a basis. Currently "European Union" stands separate from "Foreign Policy", "Social Policy" from "Social Issues", and so on, which has encouraged me to do this. Many issues (Immigration, Education, Health) seem to be in more than one of the broad categories I (arbitrarily) assigned, so please move as you see fit. 09:00am (JST) 18/07/07 Vicarvictor

Yeah, if anyone would like to write one. The only reason this article is so extensive is becuase it was split from the parent article David Cameron due to length. Gordon Brown hasn't _quite_ reached that stage yet, I think, but maybe soon. DWaterson 01:45, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Balance[edit]

I don't think it is a good idea to put so much information about his scandals in an article about his political views. e.g. Bicycle controversy.

I think it is entirely appropriate, since it demonstrates the level and depth (or otherwise) of his commitment to these policies. But I believe to balance the inclusion of controversies on some policies we should also be including examples of how his deeply-held beliefs have been proved. Just can't think of any off the top of my head - maybe because he doesn't have any deeply-held beliefs that he is willing to publicly proclaim.

Gay Rights[edit]
