Commercial Links[edit]

There seem to be several links to some cv website (commercial site) that have been posted in the references section and I am unable to edit this section for some reason. Spooky69 (talk) 10:54, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed them. The reason you couldn't remove it by editing the references section is because reference details go in the main text but appear in that section. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:15, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial links are there again - immigration media and workpermit.com --Spooky69 (talk) 13:08, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

What's going on with the footnotes? They are all over the place. Sah10406 (talk) 08:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You only had one } on the end of the citation you added rather than two, so the footnote wasn't working. I've fixed it now. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:04, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for correcting what the problem was. I am actually new in here and am learning with the passage of time.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tahavur (talkcontribs) 17:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Too much detail?[edit]

The Tier 1 (General) section is now very long, because lots of detailed information on how the points are calculated has been added from the BIA website. Does anyone agree that this should be shortened and summarised? After all, Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, or textbook. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:51, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The detail is needed for anyone who needs to have the exact information regarding the application requirements of Tier 1 - General Migrant. Every detail is important because the exlusion of any of the sentence included in article would lead to less points than the required points (i.e.95 points) and would have his/hers VISA application rejected. I have therefore tried to include the minimum possible, yet complete information. Thanks.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tahavur (talkcontribs) 17:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The point is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a guide to applying for a work permit - please see WP:NOTGUIDE. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:00, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Post Study Work[edit]

Reinstated PSW. No idea why it was moved to tiers not in use, but it is not closing until April 2012.

Copied text for the purpose of merging pages[edit]

I think this will create a single more cohesive page that people can go to and find a complete abd detailed breakdown of the UK immigration policy instead of fragmented pages which only partly cover the topic.
