No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:59, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Petrovac, Bosnia and HerzegovinaPetrovac, Republika SrpskaRelisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:21, 27 September 2011 (UTC) The underlying naming issue is confusing anyway, and we should help our readers understand. This municipality was formed out of Bosanski Petrovac municipality after the Bosnian war. Its official name is "Petrovac/Bosanski Petrovac" [1], or God knows what. We should stress that it is actually part of Republika Srpska, and thus reduce ambiguity with Bosanski Petrovac. Most interwikis have this page at title disambiguated to Republika Srpska.}} No such user (talk) 08:21, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see anyone calling by either of these names, but it's called "Srpska Petrovac" here. Kauffner (talk) 11:06, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The book actually says "Srpski Petrovac", but that is certainly not its current (and maybe not even contemporary) name. Back in 2000-something, Constitutional Court of BiH ruled illegal all newly-coined town names starting with "Srpski" (Srpski Drvar, Srpsko Sarajevo etc). Furthermore, on page 31 of the same book (3rd from bottom) it is referred to as "Bosanski Petrovac RS".
No, (one of) the official name of this is certainly just "Petrovac". Here's a government document [2], see article 43. Its website [3] refers to the municipality as "Petrovac-Drinić". The only question is which disambiguation to use, and our sources mostly use "Republika Srpska", "RS" or "Srpski" one way or another. Using "Bosnia and Herzegovina" just makes it too ambiguous. Article title, again[edit]

@Surtsicna: Why such a knee-jerk revert [4]? If you take a closer look, I asked for the same move back in 2011. The rationale is obvious: this isn't an article about Bosanski Petrovac but about the rump of its municipality located in Republika Srpska. The current title offers a lot of possibility for confusion, and pretty much any alternative is better, but I gave up explaining that back in 2011, because this is a god-forgotten article. The move was part of mass moves performed by a single user with no explanation, such as moving Ravno, Bosnia and Herzegovina to Ravno, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (as if there were another Ravno in Bosnia and Herzegovina and as if Herzegovina-Neretva Canton were more recognizable than Bosnia and Herzegovina). Thus a knee-jerk revert. Why not attempt another move request? Surtsicna (talk) 13:18, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
