Warning about "Thousands Are Sailing" on CD version(s) of Parallel Lines.[edit]

I am leaving this note for other editors interested in the present article.

Andy Irvine's website includes "Thousands Are Sailing" in the track list of Parallel Lines on CD, and Amazon advertises the same track list on a CD version of Parallel Lines from a label called Appleseed, here.

I already had the original, vinyl LP—which did not include "Thousands Are Sailing"—but purchased the CD because I wanted to hear the Gaughan/Irvine version of this track, which they had recorded a year earlier for the album Folk Friends 2.

However, The CD that was delivered to me this morning was from the German Wundertüte label—described here—and does not feature "Thousands Are Sailing"; so, the track lists of this CD and the original, vinyl LP are therefore identical.

I am currently attempting to order a copy of the Appleseed version of the CD, to satisfy myself that it actually exists.

In the meantime, I have now removed the external link to Irvine's website page for this album, and replaced it with a new external link to the Discogs website, which has the original 8-track list that applies to both the vinyl LP and the Wundertüte version of the CD.

If/when I receive the 9-track version of the Appleseed CD version of Parallel Lines, I will re-instate the prose I removed earlier today, which described "Thousands Are Sailing" as a bonus track, and probably a bit of prose to summarize the existence of both versions of the CD.

Also: anyone wishing to hear the Gaughan/Irvine version of "Thousands Are Sailing" could, alternatively, purchase the—now quite rare—original LP of Folk Friends 2, or its equally rare CD.

I'll update this section again when I have more to report; I hope this was helpful.

I received the 9-track version of the CD in the post this morning. Therefore, I amended the main page of the article accordingly, and also added a new sub-section: Two versions of the CD. Also reviewed and amended all the ref tags.
