PBS-1 suppressorPBS-1 silencer – It's a Russian gun so why use the recent American term when books don't? GBooks. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:41, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • MoveSuppressor is an Americanism, and a very recent one at that. I found quite a bit of evidence, posted at Talk:Suppressor#Discussion, that even Americans primarily use silencer, including American firearms media and the gun and silencer manufacturers themselves. The only time they really emphasize that silencer is "technically inaccurate" (it isn't, btw) is when they are writing an op-ed against silencer regulations in the US. And all of the sources in this article except one use silencer, and the exception says suppressor (silencer). --Dennis Bratland (talk) 03:19, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
