Untitled[edit]

It'd be nifty to know how she became a baroness, don't you think? Yeah, I know. I assume that the Queen had to elevate her or whatever. But what are the details?

Education[edit]

Did this person never go to school or university? Perhaps someone who knows could add the details... Safebreaker (talk) 18:38, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My impression is that she may have attended Oxford or Cambridge. Don't know yet, but continuing 2 look. However, she dedicated her The Lighthouse(2005) to "...my husband Conner Bantry White 1920-1964," which is info I didn't have. She didn't go to Uni.

Final Dalgliesh novel?[edit]

The article says James has declared an end to the Dalgliesh novels, and cites her 2011 Guardian interview. But it doesn't quite say that. It says:

Disinclined, at 90, to begin another Dalgliesh novel, on the grounds that to die leaving a manuscript unfinished would be "intolerable", she chose instead to pursue a long-cherished, if surprising, ambition...

I think it would be safer to say something like "In 2011, James said that she was reluctant to begin another Dalgliesh novel and risk it being left unfinished." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.177.168.71 (talk) 12:25, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
