Comment[edit]

Not sure if the stub links for Vietnam as well as architecture are appropriate. Hopefully someone will fill in or remove as appropriate. —EncMstr 20:29, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

The Portland Parks web page about the memorial calls it the "Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial" as do some other web pages. However, I am not going to move it because there are pages, besides wiki mirrors and including one from Ron Wyden's office, that call it the "Oregon Vietnam Veterans Memorial". --Jason McHuff 04:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have a look at this photo: It has yet another name. I think google counts were used in chosing the name. I should have documented it though. Thanks for checking. — EncMstr 04:47, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This memorial is not the first in the state of Oregon[edit]

I am a current member of the American Legion in Independence Oregon. There is a monument in our city that was dedicated July 4, 1982 and this predates by five years the monument listed in Portland as being the first in the state to honor service members of the Vietnam War. This July 4 will have a ceremony to commemorate forty years of the monument here in Independence. I will be putting together an article noting the history of our Vietnam Veterans Memorial soon, but wanted to make the comment along with the photograph of our monument to add in this talk concerning this article.

This is a Vietnam Veterans Memorial is suggested to be the first Vietnam veterans memorial in the state of Oregon.
