I have tidied this article up somewhat, but it still needs a lot of work. I have begun to provide some of the detail that is needed, but it still needs a lot more. I would counsel against providing excessive detail here, rather using this as a general article that will lead to others, dealing with specific aspects of the subject. For example an article is needed on buddles. I have created a title, but only as a redirect to this one.

I think the article is now in reasonable shape and I intend to remove the Cleanup tag. Are there any objections? Biscuittin (talk) 14:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have identified the person who appears to have review it and left a message on his talk page asking him to review it again. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

Are ore dressing and Mineral processing not basically the same? --Hardscarf (talk) 23:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure that they are quite the same. The problem is that processing minerals that are not metallic ores had crept inot this article. I think it would be truer to say that ore dressing was one variety of mineral processing. Peterkingiron (talk) 00:12, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the two articles should be merged. There is nothing in the field of ore dressing that is peculiar from mineral dressing or mineral processing. Mineral processing is the modern term. Old ore dressing textbooks always included sections on the processing of industrial minerals and coal preparation. I'm all for the merger. I think there's nothing on the Ore Dressing page worth keeping. The only thing unique on this page is the list of archaic definitions. That's not really encyclopedic.BSMet94 (talk) 20:29, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This merge nomination has been open for 18 months. It is outside my speciality. As far as I am concerned, please merge. If there is really little of value here, that will merely involve converting this to a redirect. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:44, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
