optical instruments[edit]

An optical instrument either processes light waves to enhance an image for viewing, or analyzes light waves (or photons) to determine one of a number of characteristic properties — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.5.87.122 (talk) 09:08, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So...[edit]

Alright. We got that part... Any information about its general uses, lads? The article really lacks info. (Yea, its got a list of things that measure light's properties. But I believe its not enough to feed brains. Don't you think the article is very short for a thing of great interest? Just asking...) Would somebody supply bytes here, please... Thanks! Expanding[edit]

I suggest expanding this article by copying material from the newly expanded Optics article. When copying material from one Wikipedia article to another, remember to state in the edit summary where it came from and give a link to the original page, to give attribution under GFDL to the Wikipedian authors (see WP:SPLITTING). It might make sense to copy all the material from the corresponding section in Optics to here, and then perhaps shorten the section at Optics slightly. See WP:Summary re the relationship between summary articles and articles on subtopics. Coppertwig (talk) 14:13, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed this article needs some major work -- Apeman2 (talk) 14:05, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It could really be improved by listing each class of optical instrument, then explaining it with a picture and internal links back to wikipedia articles specific to it. --Apeman2 (talk) 14:06, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Aaaaaaaaa[edit]

I need help with science and I need to know why optical devices are called optical devices and I need to know 5 reasons why! TnT 70.73.4.61 (talk) 04:38, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do your own homework.
Welcome to Wikipedia. Your question appears to be a homework question. I apologize if this is a misinterpretation, but it is our aim here not to do people's homework for them, but to merely aid them in doing it themselves. Letting someone else do your homework does not help you learn nearly as much as doing it yourself. Please attempt to solve the problem or answer the question yourself first. If you need help with a specific part of your homework, feel free to tell us where you are stuck and ask for help. If you need help grasping the concept of a problem, by all means let us know.--Srleffler (talk) 05:03, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
