Length of article is a problem...and so is Wikipedia policy[edit]

This article is about Omar Khadr. It is not about Khadr's family or American military operations in Afghanistan. Big chunks read like they were written by one or several military enthusiasts and describe, in excruciating jargon-heavy language, banal details of American military operations that took place after the firefight that put Omar Khadr on the metaphorical map. It is also cluttered with superfluous details about the Khadr family that drag out an already long and meandering article. If I can find a source that fits Wikipedia's narrow definition of "reliable" (i.e. Western and mainstream) mentioning the absurdity of the war criminal American government illegally detaining and torturing terrorists [sic] who dare shoot at or chuck grenades at a hostile American invasion force I will add it to the article (not holding my breath, however) and clean it up a bit while I am here. Would also be good to find a "reliable" article or oped calling out the double-standard of treating African child soldiers as sympathetic victims of exploitative adults but demonizing Khadr as a calculating "terrorist" who wanted to murder peacefully invading Americans. A bit sad that Wikipedia is, by design, a mouthpiece for pro-Western, pro-American bias and propaganda that denies a voice to opinions and facts that question the DoS and Pentagon line. And Jimbo calls himself a libertarian. Too funny. User2346 (talk) 04:52, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And try to read WP:SOAP and WP:FORUM while you are out there searching. 104.169.36.35 (talk) 14:36, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

the page say that he his a canadian soldier but he was not .. Djtino (talk) 22:51, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See the section above, assuming you're referring to the Google search results. Nowhere in this article is he referred to as a "Canadian soldier". Simplexity22 (talk) 23:22, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It was a Google error, associated only with their search engine and was not fed by Wikipedia. Google rectified the error tonight and Omar Khadr is no longer shown as a Canadian soldier. Govang (talk) 03:16, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Appears the problem comes from Google's reading of Wikidata [1] Legacypac (talk) 04:07, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

updates needed[edit]

Updates on the various legal actions and Omar Khadr's post-incarceration life are needed 2001:569:5273:A100:5015:1877:D8CD:402B (talk) 07:30, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
