Deliberately[edit]

Response to the non-discussion invitation and reversion by User:72Dino.

OK, for the particular word, I'll have to admit to WP:OR in this case. I am a professional TV director by trade. I am one of perhaps a few dozen individuals who have ever directed the TV coverage of The Rose Parade. When you direct your cameras to the announce booth, it is at the directive of the boss, to not show something that would ordinarily be happening in front of your cameras. Perhaps as further evidence, as one would be inclined to do when under such a directive, the directors jumped the cue and cut away slightly early, so no distant shots down the parade route were shown. No accidents happened, not one frame of the protestors made air. That is what is called deliberate.

As for the remainder of the information posted, you have eliminated factual information that it was not covered, visible from the worldwide feed as well as the sourced comments that it is off the air. And you additionally reverted the sourced live feed of the event. I am replacing the information without the WP:OR. Trackinfo (talk) 19:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, there was an edit conflict. I have no problem with the revised wording. 72Dino (talk) 19:21, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TV coverage[edit]

(ec)The following sentence was added a couple of times: "On the day of the event, the worldwide television broadcast deliberately cut to the announcers in the booth to eliminate any coverage of the protestors." However, the reference did not appear to support that coverage was deliberately cut to not show protestors. The more likely reason is that the official parade was over so TV coverage ended. Any addition of this sentence would require a reference from a reliable source. Thanks, 72Dino (talk) 19:18, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
