Proposal for a change of citation style[edit]

Dear wikipedians Cornwallis, Mabuska, Kravtz, or any other interested party that I may have missed. I would like to extend the article but find that the present citation style is too informal and lacks URLs, making it difficult to find the sources and the relevant quotation inside them. This article is rated C and has 24 citations of the style <ref>free text</ref> and a list of sources, also described in free text. I propose to use "short" descriptions in the text ({{Sfn}}) and "long" ones using templates (e.g. {{Cite book}}) in the list of sources like in the recent FA Frederick the Great. Adding URLs would be part of this.

As prescribed in WP:CITEVAR, I formally ask your permission. I hope to obtain a sufficient number of approvals, but if nobody replies within a month, I will assume that I can go ahead without further ado. Given consensus, I would convert the existing citations to the proposed style before any further additions. Respectfully yours Johannes Schade (talk) 15:47, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah no problems, it serves to improve Wikipedia so no complaints here. Mabuska (talk) 11:48, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
