Is this film a Western?[edit]

I dispute calling this film a "Western," similar to Cimarron, Unforgiven, or Dances With Wolves.

Westerns do not take place in contemporary times. Two of the above three films don't take place anywhere near the era in which they were produced. Only the very end of Cimarron takes place in the 1920s. Most Westerns are set in the 19th Century or very shortly thereafter. No Country For Old Men takes place in 1980.

I propose the line listing this film as one of four Oscar-winning Westerns be deleted. QuarterbackSneak (talk) 21:39, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
