RCAF squadrons operating in NW Europe[edit]

I've noticed numerous errors made by individuals posting, with respect to attributing Canadian squadrons (by mistake) to the RAF. We had this go-around with individuals WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN KNOWLEDGEABLE, as with 664 AOP Squadron, RCAF, 665 AOP Squadron, RCAF, and 666 AOP Squadron, RCAF.

Article XV of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan agreement dictated that all Canadian squadrons formed overseas (i.e., RCAF) would be numbered in the 400 through 450 series, the RAAF home-defense 450 Squadron notwithstanding. The agreement was breached by Air Ministry when the AOP '600' series squadrons were allocated to the RCAF in 1944-1945, but there was no occasion where a '400' series squadron was ever allocated to the RAF.
