My impression is that in the US, "nightcrawler" normally refers specifically to Lumbricus terrestris, a widespread invasive species also sold commercially as fishing bait. Of course, most people don't know that the distinctive worms they sometimes fish with are foreign. It certainly doesn't refer generically to any annelid used as bait, as the disambig suggests. Also, it strikes me as odd that nightcrawlers is a redirect to earthworm, whereas nightcrawler is this disambiguation. --50.133.131.206 (talk) 05:15, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
